Unleash the tone ofyour Epiphone Valve Jr. The Valve Jr is quickly becoming one of thebest selling tube amps, it has pretty good tone and the price isright. However, these amps can tend to be a bit noisy and sound a bitthin. After these mods your amp will sound fantastic, with less noiseand more reliable performance.  The tone will rival that ofboutique amps costing many times more. Your Epiphone Valve Jr may besmall in size, but it doesn't need to sound small.

This kit works for all versions of the Valve Jr (Head and Combo).

This kit includes all the parts and detailed instructions with photos for all the following mods.

Tone - Getrid of that thin bottom, honky mids, and lack of clarity with HighQuality Sprague Orange Drop Caps and corrected resistor values for theinput stage to increase the gain and minimize noise. The cathode cap isreplaced to provide full tone range resulting in full low end withoutbeing flabby

Tube Bias -The preamp tube is running to cool causing the amp to sound harsh andcold, adjusting the cathode resistors let the pre-amp tube run a bithotter for a smoother and warmer tone.  The power tube is running tohot causing the amp to sound brittle, cooling down the power tubeimproves the tone of the amp and increases the tubes life.

Brightness - Like to play at lowvolumes but find the amp too dark? The brightness mod adds sparkle toyour tone at low volumes. As you turn your amp up the brightness modloses its effect so the amp never sounds brittle at high volumes.

Power Stiffening - Both theCathode cap on the power tube and the filter cap in the first filterstage are replaced with corrected values to reduce noise, increasefrequency response and increase dynamics.

Noise Reduction - Isolates theinput jack from the chassis preventing ground loops. Replaces therectifier diodes with ultra fast diodes reducing switching noise.Increase the capacitance of the first filter stage by 5x reducingripple current and noise.

Proper Lead Dress -Take a look inside a boutique tube amp and you will see all the wirescarefully twisted and placed for greatest reduction in oscillation andnoise. The Valve Jr has all the internal wires zip tied together. Igive clear instructions on dressing the leads inside the amp foroptimal performance, this results in lower noise and less chance foroscillation.

Included in the kit is all thecomponents necessary to get your amp in top shape and the detailedinstructions to make the changes easy. If you have a basic understanding of electronics and soldering skills you can do these mods in less than an hour.
