Very versatile boost.  This pedal has three controls: “Great” controls the overall greatness (post effect vol), “Day” controls how much of your Day gets to be Great (pre effect gain), “For” is the prepositional control to tame the signal when you are having a really really GREAT DAY (high end roll off).  

UP has enough “greatness” to give your amp a subtle nudge or a serious kick while retaining your tone and giving you improved picking dynamics and articulation.  In fact, UP is such an effective tone-shaping box, you might not want to turn it off.  I have yet to meet a guitar amp or other pedal that did not become immediate friends with Great Day for UP!

Each enclosure is hand etched and painted and no two will ever look the same. Knob and switch sets are determined at assembly depending on what I think looks best on that enclosure.

There is plenty of boost on tap and working the combinations of the controls yields a myriad of tones. One of the ways I really enjoyed it was just a general fattening agent for single coils. Another great pedal from John.

Up is a clean boost, and a great one. The EQ section doesn't venture too far away from maintaining a very natural, organic tone, which seems to be a design goal in all of John Fromel's pedals. It succeeds at maintaining the tone it is boosting, and more of "that tone" can be dialed in, accentuated, or softened with the EQ section of UP.

UP is a tremendously warm "more" pedal. More warm than the Sex Drive, FA1's, SHO's, and more.
