Boss GE-7B Bass Equalizer Modifications

$ 49.95

Kill the noise, keep the boost — bass edition. Tired of the hiss, ice-pick highs, and general tone-suck of the stock Boss GE-7B? This kit fixes all of it. Unlike other mods that change the corner frequencies (so you can never get a flat response for a clean boost), this kit corrects the real problem — the cheap, non-audio components Boss used — while keeping the EQ usable as a transparent boost.

What's in the kit:

  • All the tantalum caps replaced with audio-grade capacitors, plus high-quality coupling caps
  • High-quality audio-grade op-amps in place of the stock parts
  • Upgraded power supply — run it at up to 18V for more headroom

Instructions are included for both the original ACA-powered GE-7B and the newer PSA-powered version, plus steps to convert an older pedal to accept a modern PSA Boss supply. (Kit only — no pedal included.)

Will it fit my pedal? This kit works on through-hole GE-7Bs only. Boss began using surface-mount (SMD) boards on some pedals in 2017, and this kit will not fit those — check the compatibility image in the listing before ordering.

Which option should I order?

  • Supreme Kit — all the parts plus full-color online instructions. An easy project with basic soldering skills.
  • Have us installsend us your pedal and we'll do it for you.
Tools you'll need (for DIY install)

Your Boss GE-7B pedal, a soldering iron and solder, desoldering braid and/or a solder sucker, a Phillips screwdriver, and wire clippers.

Installing the kit yourself voids the pedal's warranty and is done at your own risk — but with basic soldering skills and the included instructions, it's an easy project. International orders may take 4+ weeks due to customs.
