The Hot Rod DeVille is loud, portable, and pedal-friendly — but stock, its drive channel is fizzy, its cleans can sound boxy, and its reverb is noisy. The Fromel Supreme OD+ kit fixes all of it: creamy, touch-sensitive overdrive, full sparkling cleans, controllable reverb, and volume that's usable from bedroom to stage — plus repairs to the amp's most common failure points for years of trouble-free playing.

What the Supreme OD+ mod does, in detail
Tone stack — Retuned to sound good with both cleans and drive, landing somewhere between tweed/JTM45 and black panel. The bass knob stays usable across its whole range (no more zero-to-too-much), and the mid knob sweeps from vintage black-panel to gainier tweed tones.
Volume & master taper — A couple of component changes make both controls move smoothly from bedroom to stage volume across the entire range of the knob.
Overdrive mod — The drive knob now runs from creamy low-to-mid gain up to heavier sounds, staying touch-sensitive and never fizzy or bloated. Kick on the More Drive switch for extra gain and presence. It cleans up beautifully with your guitar's volume and loves boosts and overdrives out front.
Cleans — Full-range with sparkling-but-smooth highs and balanced, full-bodied lows — like taking a blanket off the amp — and even better with pedals.
Reverb — From a noisy, washy mess to controllable, full, and natural, with a much lower noise floor.
Reliability — Fixes the amp's most common failure points (roughly 90% of what we see for repair), including new power resistors for the 15V± rail and metal-film 1% plate-load resistors.
New input jacks — The stock jacks are soldered straight to the circuit board, where plug tension can damage it. This replaces them with high-quality jacks on their own board (not soldered to the main PCB), with upgraded input and impedance resistors for lower noise.
Proper lead dress — Clear instructions for twisting and routing the internal wiring the way boutique amps do, for lower noise and less oscillation.
What's in the Recap kit
Replacements for all power-filter and cathode-bypass caps with high-quality MOD Filter Caps and top shelf components. USA-made Hot Rods are all due for new filter caps, and many current Mexico-made units have leaky ones — this kit resolves both.

Tube amplifiers contain parts that operate at very high temperatures and deadly voltages; if you are not sure of your abilities, do not perform these mods.
