Boss DS-1 Distortion Modifications

Turn the underdog DS-1 into a snarling beast. With this Fromel kit the humble DS-1 gains thick, rich distortion with gain to spare — surprisingly warm, with great bass response and a wide range of usable tones, from roaring distortion to gnarly, splatty fuzz. After the mod you won't believe it's the same pedal.

The kit lets you voice your DS-1 in five different styles, replaces just about every capacitor in the signal path with high-quality audio-grade caps, upgrades the power-supply caps so you can run it at up to 18V, and even includes a water-clear bright-orange LED. No need to pay hundreds for a boutique distortion.

Will it fit my pedal? This kit works on through-hole DS-1s only. Boss began using surface-mount (SMD) boards on some pedals in 2017, and this kit will not fit those — check the compatibility image in the listing before ordering.
